1966 Hemi Dodge Coronet SOLD

There are so many new aftermarket parts of this car it’s difficult to decide where to start! The 572ci Hemi was built in the winter of 2007 by Muscle Motors in Lansing, Michigan, where it was dyno tested and tuned by Mike Ware. It makes over 900hp and 800ft/lbs of torque on 93 octane pump gas. After the first 300 easy break-in miles the engine was re-tuned by Mick Bodigon. 200 miles later it’s dialed in and ready to go! A fully CNC Prepped Mopar Performance Mega Block was mated to Indy Cylinder.

Heads: model 426-1RA CNC 295 and a 426-4 manifold. A Callies 4.5” stroke 4340 crank was used with heavy duty 7.15” Eagle H-Beam rods and Weisco 10.75 to 1 pistons. A Comp Cams roller cam (custom ground to Muscle Motors specs) and HR-1 roller lifters work the valves. Induction is handled by a Holley 4500 Dominator breathing through a K&N Extreme custom air cleaner. Indy polished aluminum valve covers cover up the valve train. A complete MSD ignition from the distributor to the Blaster SS coil, to the digital 6 Box handles the fire making duties. A Milodon 8 quart oil pan feels their high flow oil pump while a Be Cool 1000hp pro street dual core radiator and CSI electric water pump handle the cooling duties. While on the subject a comp vacuum pump takes care of extra pressures and windage. A Competition Engineering motor plate with limiters keeps the power from tearing the car in half. An Optima Red Top battery with an aluminum hold and a 100 amp alternator provide plenty of cranking power. Here are two figures to remember…932hp at 6800rpm and $25,000+ just for the engine alone. Total build cost…Well over $100K.

Power is great but unless there’s a serious transmission in the middle, the Dana will never see it happen. The builder stepped up big time and spec’d out a Coan Racing Maximum Performance 727 Transmission. It got the full build…trans brake, alloy hubs, and aluminum direct drum with a 6 clutch pack, their “super support kit” and 5 pinion planetary, a lightened sun shell, super sprag. Fabricated deep pan, billet band apply strut (reversed pattern, big block)…in other words, bulletproof. A SCR transmission shield protects your legs while a polished B&M trans cooler keeps things from exploding. A super duty Performance Torque Converters (PTC) 9 inch, steel stator, 4200 stall converter, spec’d out by Muscle Motors, features all the “works” stuff, like a precision clearance, reinforced fins, needle bearings, ballooning plates, computer balancing, limited warranty, furnace brazing, and hardened hub and splines.

Up front you’ll find Magnumforce tubular K frame and Aldan double adjustable coil-overs and Eibach springs. Wilwood 10.75 rotors and four piston calipers, and Line-loc. Magnumforce’s 1/2 inch drop spindles set the stance while a Flaming River rack turns the wheels. Out back a Strange Engineering Dana 60 holds up the rear, and puts the power down through Strange axles. And Strange spool and 4.10 gears and a complete professionally installed Chassis Engineering ladder bar set up with Strange coil over single adjustable shocks. Billet Specialties 28X4.5-15 and 28X13.5-15 ET Streets. More Wilwood disc brakes, and adjustable proportioning valve and stainless steel brake lines work with the fronts to stop the car NOW! An 8 point cage inside ties everything together on top, while sub-frame connectors do the same thing below.

The body is flawless. It was smoothed to perfection by B&B in Royal Oak, MI, and painted Viper red. Up front there is a A-900 Hood making room for all the breathing under the hood.

The Interior is just as extraordinary as the rest of the car… Great seats, harnesses, and appointments. Not to mention the complete set of Auto-Meter ultra lite gauges.

The trunk is finished in a competition flavor, complete with an aluminum fuel cell and a Barry Grant Fuel system.

And the list just goes on and on, and on……….

Summation…Old School looks, outstanding engineering and safety features.

Capable of multiple Ass-Kicking applications…just make sure you’re pointed in the direction you REALLY want to go, before dropping the hammer. And oh, what an exhaust note…like nothing you’ve ever heard.

If you have any questions, just post them below so everyone can see them. I can be reached at 815-988-6692 or email me at flyingwedgeracing @ charter.net

Best offer over $56,000 takes it.
