Mario's Oyster Bay Car Show June 25, 2024

1969 Camaro Yenko 572 ci 720 hp

My Second Car Show this week and the Fifth of the season Oyster Bay Cruise Night was held Tuesday night June 25th in our quaint little town.

Traffic was closed off on Main Street and the Classic Cars were parked along the side of the road for all the fans to see.

We had another hot Rock Band playing our favorite oldies to the delight of the crowd.

The shops stayed open along Main Street for food and drinks and everyone had a great time, young and old.

It was a fun-filled evening with lots of Classic cars showing up. Enjoy, Mario.

Lets see, I think I will take the 55 Chev Bel Air and the 59 Chev Impala. Mario, you are starting to make me jealous of your amazing local cruise night. I wish it was not so far from me, because I would love to take it in. Cheers buddy.

Whoa whoa whoa, just a minute here Mr. Mario. Let me get this straight, you went to a 500 car show and then turn around and go to this street venue one? All in the same week? What is your birth sign? A Rabbit's FOOT?

I am going all out on the 37 Chevy Street Rod Race Car because it looks so wrong among all the others that it has to be right. I grew up on Sprint Car and dirt track racing and late modified and to me, that Hot Rod just ooozes that theme.

Yes I did see my fav 50 Ford Woodie with the paint and the GTO with the paint and the NOVA.......oh wait, hmmmm there's NO NOVA here.

Turn on the Bat Signal, there's trouble here in Gotham City.

Now the 1940 with the Chevy Ralleye Wheels did catch my eye. Brave owner who does that stuff.

I guess if you won't pay George's airfare to come see these shows I'm sure my airfare is out of bounds.

So I'll just keep an eye on your threads and if enough threads are produced WITHOUT a NOVA......I know people in low places. They live in DC.

You have a very good eye Rob catching that 40 Ford with Chevy Rally Wheels. That took a lot of doing but it does look good.

And the 37 Chevy Street Rod Race Car was out of sight. The tires alone must cost a fortune. I agree it looks out of place, it belongs on a dirt track not in a street fair. I like his plate 37MODIFIED, it certainly is. The rails around the car are smart and useful in racing.

We had a dirt track out in Riverhead LI and also a figure 8 that I used to go to. They since made it asphalt. It's been there since 1949 and still open. Here's the website: https://www.riverheadraceway.com/

I'll look out for Chevy Novas haven't seen too many lately. Anything for a Fan! Cheers my AZ friend, stay cool. Mario

I agree with you George! Rob has a wonderful sense of humor. You never know where he's going with it!

He's our Western brother from Tucson! I wonder if he's quick on the draw. Cheers, Mario

Mario, I checked to see how long it would take me to get to Oyster Bay from where I am. It is 8.5 hours with no traffic. A bit of a haul to say the least and you know there is going to be traffic everywhere from here to there. Sadly I will never see it. When I was younger I would have ventured off during some time off. Now that I am older, more tired and retired. I could not imagine doing it. I will do it vicariously through your A.T. postings. Cheers.

That's a bit of a drive 8.5 hours at our age and I understand. But my posts are a lot easier to visit so no worries.

I've been to many parts of Canada in the past on vacation with wife and kids. It's a bit of a haul and I was a lot younger back then.

You have a beautiful Country and I've learned a lot just from your posts and in your comments. Cheers to you my friend, Mario

I am not greedy but I forgot to mention that I will also take the 65 Corvair and the 58 Chev Bel Air, also maybe the 55 Ford Crown, just for good measure. Cheers.
