Brampton, Ontario, Canada Cruise Night.

Tuesday August 13, 2024.

I took in the weekly Brampton cruise night that has been held by the Brampton car club for many years now. Took my 57 Pontiac and met up with my long time car buddy Pete V. who also lives in Brampton and has two 57 Chevy's that he never uses. Great weather, great tunes and great cars. Check out the rides. Cheers.

Well, well, well George, I'm in a RARE mood today, so from this menu, I think I'd like a full plate of Mercury Marauder please.

I think there were less than 3500 of these behemoths made in 1970. Not a common sight to the common man at car shows. It doesn't appear to be the x-100 model. I believe there were only 2500 or so made of them.

Having owned a 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente 289 4 Speed Convertible as my first "CHICK MAGNET", I felt it was time to go back to grassroots and pay homage to the winged helmet god of the greeks.

This now leaves the menu totally open to Mario and his choices. I almost went with the patriotic theme of red white and blue with the beginning 1967 Chevelle, the red 1968 Cutlass and the blue 1969 Camaro RS/SS. That would make me and my garage smile.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful entres from the menu of Brampton. Well done sir.

Rob, actually it is X-100 and I never knew thay were that rare. Also interesting that you mentioned a 65 Merc Caliente because I saw a red rag top today in the local Walmart parking lot, of all places. A middle aged lady was in it. I am not sure what motor was in it but it was an automatic. Cheers.

Well since Rob left me the rest of the menu these are my picks:

Both 1969 Camaros, the SS350 and RS/SS350. Since I owned a 69 Camaro SS350 I would like both of them with the dual chrome scoops on the hood and side check stripes.

I will also take the 57 Chevy Bel Air 2 door sedan V8, Gold V. I took my road test in the same car only it was gray and passed first time. Classic car of all time.

And for desert I'd like the 56 Mercury, always stylish and it speaks 50's. Great two tone car.

Thank you George for the show and cheers to you, Mario
