Ancaster, Ontario, Canada Car Show.

Sunday October 27, 2024.

I took in the the long running Ancaster Car show and swap meet held by the long running Rod Masters car club. Always a great event with an amazing turn out. Being the last official event of the year in southern Ontario. It is a good bet that with good weather there will be a huge turn out in cars, spectators and venders. I rode with my brother Mike in his 1962 Ford Falcon. Cool and crisp temps but it was sunny and we enjoyed some fall colours there and back. A great variety of cars of every shape and size there. It just saddenes me to no end that it is all over, I mean depressing to no end. It is now a long fall and winter hibernation until late April. Enjoy the vintage tin here, my fellow vintage tin lovers. Cheers.

George, George, George, you've outdone yourself. What a collection of cars, trucks and whatever.

The Sox and Martin car really hit home with me as when I built models in my youth many many many years ago, it was one I built to enter into a contest our little town put on for Jubilee Day.

I didn't win that year with the Sox & Martin entry but I eventually won with a Ford Fairlane 500 GT. I wanted to do a 500 GTA but money was tight even back as a kid. A lesson to be carried through life.

But I digress. I'm sorry your car shows are coming to an end. Ours are finally opening up, but sadly I can't seem to get my 51 Ford SHORTBREAD ready and roadworthy. I'll keep working at it.

I did find the Buick with the clear hood and SBC interesting. Sometimes car shows are like Baskin-Robbins 52 flavors. You want to sample them all but you know you're limited to 2, or 3, or...

Keep warm and learn from the Grizzleys and hibernate. Take care of that Pontiac. Just don't wear the paint out, polishing it. Cheers, Rob

George, I must admit I'm confused on the pic of the Chevrolet Small Block. It looks like it has 3 air filters. 2 Cone air filters and then another one in the center. Hmmmm...just not sure what that's all about.

Rob, as always I appreciate the kind words. Concerning the Chev small block with all the air cleaners. I think the two cone air cleaners are working as breathers for the crankcase ventilation system. Cheers.

Hey George what a great car show you got to see late in October even if it's the last one for this year. You're lucky to have had an extra month of car shows, ours ended in Sept! I'm already depressed at not seeing those Oldies but Goodies.

I have a nice list of cars in my top 5 and here they are:

The 60 Chevy Impala 4 door HT in white with the full panoramic view is just awesome. That's a rare one seldom seen. All that glass must have made for a hot interior on a summer day. But it sure looks good!

The 58 Ford 2 door HT in a beautiful baby blue and white combo is really nice to look at. Another rare car for a car show. And I saw there was another 58 Ford sedan at the show as well.

The 51 Ford convertible with those crazy headlights that have to go. They diminish the beauty of the classic car. What was the owner thinking? My Uncle Al had a new 51 Ford 2 door sedan that he loved and kept for many years.

I have to say the 53 Chevy Bel Air 2 door HT in blue and white also caught my eye. A big model change from the 52 Chevy. My favorite is the 54 Chevy over the 53. I like the 54 tail lights better.

And finally the 55 Buick 2 door HT in grey and white is a Large classy fifties car. My friend Doug had one in black and white that his uncle left him when he passed away. Doug used to drive the car daily and kept it for many years.

Hopefully we can count on Rob to get us through the winter with his car shows in AZ. You and I did our share of car shows this year with many many great looking classics. Let's see what Rob can come up with, no pressure Rob but George and I can't wait until spring 2025 to see more cars. We need you to step up to the plate and hit a home run for poor George and I.

Cheers my friend and don't fret I'll be posting other pages on various cars over the winter. Keep an eye out for them. Mario

I guess you may be correct, George. I never saw that before. Maybe a little bit of overkill for crankcase venting?

Mario, i appreciate all your kind and interesting observations. How do you like that Rob getting to hog a bunch of car shows in the hot sunny south of Arizona, while we now twiddle our thumbs in the cold until late April. The nerve of some guys eh Mario. Rob, I do not know for sure that those cone shaped air cleaners are crankcase breathers but I can not think of any other reasonable explanation. Mario, I am looking forward to any future submissions of yours to A.T., as always it is very much appreciate. Also Rob's build will help us get through the bitter cold winter as well. Cheers to both you fine old car gentlemen.

Thank you George much appreciate your kind words and I know Rob will come through for us "Northerners" with some AZ car shows this winter to help us get through the cold winter months.

I will also do my part in posting some hopefully interesting car submissions on my quest to 200. There's always a good car story to tell.

Take care of yourself George and thank you again for all the wonderful car shows you and your brother Mike shared with all of us this year. They were all 100% Awesome!

Thank you George for accepting the Honor of King of Car Shows 2024!

You totally deserve this honor because you are Number 1 in car shows in our AT network. You have probably posted thousands of car show pictures this year in all your car shows.

As far as a Queen, well we'll have to get back to you on that. Not sure where we can go on that one.

Congratulations again George, our King of AT Car Shows for 2024!!!

Cheers my friend, Mario

Let me be among the ones that honor both you and Mario for your dedication and support to keep this forum entertaining and informative. When you can learn and be entertained, that's a WIN WIN!

I would like to see more replies by other members who we know hit the LIKE button as to our threads but rarely post any comments.

I know they're out there when I see the number of likes on a thread yet no replies. Even an "ATTABOY" once in awhile will stimulate a new thread.

Thanks to ALL the members for staying loyal to this site and to Brandon who without him, I guess this wouldn't be what it is. THANKS BRANDON!!

Thanks Rob and I agree it would be great to see some comments from the AT community on our posts. It takes a lot of time and creativity to add our pages for all to see and we would appreciate some feedback.

Thank you Brandon for making all this possible. We all love our cars and car shows and you created an outstanding forum for us on American Torque!

Nice photos George, way to cap off another great year! The rear window and roofline look really cool on the '60 Impala. Isn't the 1970 Dodge Super Bee really a '68? (Based on the front turn signal lights.) The '55 Buick Century (4-hole) is nice. Wouldn't it be cool to rig up some small lights in the 8 holes that would light when the corresponding spark plug fires? The '36 Ford look sweet, it may be my favorite. Thanks George!

Brandon, thank you for correcting me in my error of the 1968 Dodge and it is also an R/T. As has been mentioned thank you for this wonderful vintage tin site that you have created. It must be a lot of work doing this and it is important that the A.T. brotherhood make it clear how much we appreciate all your efforts sir. Thank you and cheers to you.
