Phillips 36 Ford Driver

I bought my ride at an auction in SD in August 2011 and drove it on the trailer. It was all original restored car and after some cleaning I drove it for 4 months. I got a few trophies at local events in its original condition. I quickly realized the mechanical brakes had to go and it needed a little more pep. I did all the updates myself except the upholstery and finished the conversion in a little over 4 months. The car has the original floor pans and the only body work I had to do was install a recessed firewall.

I wanted to leave it looking as much like the original as I could. I did put in bucket seats, tilt steering, along with power steering, power disc brakes (11" rotors), and A/C. Front suspension is Mustang II with tubular A arms from Southern Rod in Greer, SC. C4 transmission with a Posey rear spring set up and a Ranger rear end. 15 x 6 on the front and 15 x 7 on the rears from Cragar. 302 with smooth idle performance cam and March Billet serpentine belt drive. Carb is 600cfm from Summit. Quick steering, well handling smooth ride. I love to drive it in our WNC mountains.
