I got one, converted to a camper and converted to diesel. I used a 1965 Perkins 354, with a 5 speed (OD) trans, and a single speed rear axle. I could not find a high speed Eaton two speed. We have traveled from CA to Canada, to Detroit and to northern Mexico. Fuel milage went from 7-8 mpg to 15-16. Hill climbing was a little better, on a long 4 lane grade, I could pass loaded 18 wheelers going up hill. I should have used a Cummins out of a dodge PU, but at the time, they were new, and too expensive. The turbo Perkins would have been better, but I did not find one. Sadly, the brakes went out and I have not used it for a number of years. I occasionally drive it around the subdivision using the big parking brake I installed.
