On October 1, 1908, the first production Model T Ford is completed in Detroit. Between 1908 and 1927, Ford would build some 15 million Model T cars. It was the longest production run of any automobile model in history. This 1912 Model T was only 4 years into the future Ford Dynasty!

It was the longest running production of any model until the VW Bug beat it in production numbers. Cheers.

Yes George, Ford built 15 million Model T's from 1908 to 1927 in just 19 years, and VW built 21.5 million Beetles from 1938 to 2003 in 65 years. Both were excellent cars in their time. Cheers.

Both cars well built for the times and both cars about as slow as tree bark. Both icons but if I had a choice I would choose an old fifties or sixties bug over a T any day of the week. Cheers.

Tree bark? That's really slow, good one!
I agree the newer cars are much better than the original "prototypes". They were slow compared to today but they were faster than horse and carriages. The roads were not made for the first cars with all the ruts and mud etc.
I do prefer the 50's and 60's cars overall. Love the style and colors. Cheers!
