Mario, you need your own You Tube channel...and get paid for all this "suffering".
My station wagon was a 1973 Chevelle Malibu Estate wagon. Light Butternut yellow with saddle interior, 350 cubic inch Turbo 350, A/C P/S P/B ect.
Funny story...dealer put 8 gallons in it and I drove it home. Went and got gas after taking kids and wife out for a ride. I dropped them off and went out to fill the tank up for the upcoming week.
I fill it and park it and come out the next morning and find a nice large wet spot under the car that smells of gas. Yepper, a hole in the tank about 1/3 the way up, must have been just above the 8 gallon level.
They fixed it under warranty and told me the lost gas was on me.....ahhh yes GM Customer Service. And they didn't' even replace the 8 gallons from the initial PDI.
Seems somethings never change.
IS it Customer or CUSSSOMEMORE?

Thank you so much for your kind words. I like posting these different pages about cars of all kind even if it's for free. My Dad had several station wagons since he used them for his job as storm window and door installer then salesman. He got a new one about every 4 years and I got to go with him to watch him haggle the price down and pick up the new car. Love that new car smell! By the way I'm working on a Corvette page you will like. Here's a hint: It has to do with a 1992 White Corvette. Take care, Mario

Now I know I am in station wagon heaven, no doubt about it. I loved wagons long before wagons came into vogue. They are very much appreciated now and that is very good to see. Hopefully four door cars will see the same appreciation that wagons have seen. Mario, once again thank you sir for caring enough to share all this amazing vintage car magic. It is very much appreciated. Cheers.

You're so welcome Dave, station wagons don't get the credit they deserve and glad to see more and more of them at car shows. Mario

Sorry I meant to say George. I get confused as to who is who. I know the cars better than the owners!

I almost forgot to mention about my very own special station wagon. I have a 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon that my dad bought new in May 1974. I was 16 at the time and I went with my dad to order the car and to eventually pick up the car. It was a real thrill for me when my dad asked me to be with him during both times. The wagon has the trusty 400 V-8 four barrel with all the usual accessories and then some. The 74 was mostly used for vacations to the U.S. and Canada by our very large family of nine, two parents and seven kids. My dad always had a second car for every day stuff so the mileage stayed low. My 74 wagon now has just over 55,000 miles and had just over 36,000 miles when my dad passed away July 1993. My 74 wagon looks as good today as the day my dad bought the car and I drive it on average about 1,000 miles a year. I drive the wagon to car shows and cruise nights and show the car in memory of my dad. Cheers.

I saw the page you made on your 74 Caprice wagon a real beauty! My Dad had a 72 Chevy wagon that I bought from him. Had to change the 350 engine because it ceased on me. Bad cam and threw some rods. So I got a 350 low miles from the junkyard and had it installed. Ran like a charm after that. Mario

Yes the Black 56 is a beauty!. Very striking with the shiny chrome. Interior and exterior are like new and the 265 V8 is quiet and clean. Nomads are an exquisite find especially in showroom condition. Good choice. Mario

For me, my all time favorite wagon will always be the 57 Chevrolet Nomad. That would be a car I could spend the rest of my life with. No doubt about it. Cheers.

I love all 3 of the Tri Five Chevys, 55, 56 and 57 and especially the true Nomads for those years. Chevy made the Nomad after that but it wasn't the same.

Mario, so true that the Nomad was actually gone after 1957. The 58 to 61 Nomad wagon was a pretty car but the real magic was gone.

Yes and they went from a 2 dr wagon to 4 dr so it was basically like all the other wagons.

Chevy Station Wagons were very popular in the 1950's. Most families had at least one in the decade. Tell us about yours. Mario
