It was available with any six-cylinder or V8 engine offered in other Chevelles - with the top option being a 300 hp 327 ci for 1964.

I like most people love Chevelle's and I have owned a number of them. 1968 300 series coupe 327 eight (1978-1980). 1967 300 series sedan 350 eight (1980-1982) and a 1970 300 series sedan 250 six (2004-2009). Interesting is that all my Chevelle's were the entry level 300 series and those are impossible to find now. Everything seems to be fake SS models and Malibu's these days. I came within an inch of buying a 1965 Malibu SS hardtop with bucket seats, console (Power Glide), blue on blue, odd 230 six and all original and mint condition. I hesitated and lost out. My brother Mike has owned a 1968 SS hardtop 350 eight, a 1969 Malibu sedan 307 eight and a 1971 Malibu hardtop 350 eight. Mario, the 1966-1967 is the second generation. Cheers.

Although the 66-67 Chevelles had a body change they are actually considered 1st Gen.

Yes I did. After having it for 14 years I got a great offer and decided to sell. Since I downsized 3 years ago from my house with a 2 car garage to a Condo I had to rent a garage for the car. Just too much.

I will go to the car shows with my brother in his 68 Vette and we get to pal around together. He garages it by me privately and I get to see it often. He also gave me a set of keys to use when I want.

The 67 Impala went to a younger couple with 3 children and they fell in love with it so it's in good hands. Just Time to move on. Cheers! Mario

So on the first day of the chevy dealer appearance, Sep 26, 1963 I ordered a Maroon SS, w / 220 HP 283, three spd. $2700. Took delivery Oct 30, 1963. A 327 / 4 spd was not available at the time.
