Bothwell, Ontario, Canada Car Show.

1956 Lincoln Premiere.

I took in the annual Bothwell car show and swap meet held by our Canadian automotive publication OLD AUTOS and the Bothwell optimists. OLD AUTOS newspaper is the biggest old car publication in Canada and it has served us well since 1987. My brother Mike took his 62 Falcon and I took my 57 Pontiac. There was easily over 1,000 cars there and the mix and the quality was amazing of the vintage tin. The turn out of people was huge as well and because of it the 50/50 draw was massive. A young lady won just over $38,000. The largest the draw was in the past was $56,000. It was a long drive of 2.5 hours one way but worth it. Check out the rides. Cheers.

Funny how we both have 59 Chevy El Caminos in our two latest car shows! Not a car you see every day.

Two other cars caught my eye: the 56 Mercury, always a favorite of mine, 2 door HT in a beautiful blue and white 2 tone. And a very classic 56 Plymouth 4 door sedan in my red and black high school colors! Great looking cars.

The first thing that jumps out at me is the NASH. One of my favorite movies is called CRY DANGER and in it a Nash is used as the principle car. The movie was made in 1951 and starts Dick Powell and Rhonda Fleming.

I always think of a bath tub when I see that car. I hope your weather has cooled so you can get your car shows in comfort. Still too hot here. Not the cars mind you but the weather.

You have some nice "PAR" plants shown as well. My friend doesn't say power, he says PAR. God made us all different so we don't get bored in life, eh?

Well, I see the bottom of my coffee cup and the waitress aka "ME" needs to get a refill. Stay well my friend and I love to sign off with CHEERS!

57 Mercury Yellow and white always a favorite of mine (not a 58) with the optional dual head lights

54 Meteor (Ford) not a 53. Great condition in blue V8.

56 Ford Blue/White convertible. One of my all time favorite year Fords. This one is a keeper!

We have a candy here in the states called that, and I am a licorice junkie.

The little Good and Plenty's are pink and white, and the licorice inside is black.

I believe there were advertisements explaining which color was good, and which one was plenty.

Who cares? Buy a box and enjoy them during a Godzilla movie or a Clint Eastwood or John Wayne movie. Remember the empty box could be used as a TAH-DOOT-TAH-DOOT where you blew real hard into the open end, and it vibrated making an irritating noise.

Now we have people that do that without the box.
