Bev's 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe 2-door

Second owner

Bev's husband Dick was having so much fun with his '51 Chevy Bel Air that when she heard about a '51 Chevy Deluxe for sale just down the road, she just had to see it.

It was a warm August night as they headed out.

Still owned by the original owners, this was a true barn find. The body was in great shape, but the rest of the car needed a lot of work. It had a hand brush paint job, the upholstery was in shambles, and the engine was shot - all things her husband was very capable of restoring.

After a little negotiating and $950 later, it was hers. Bev drove it home, and the engine hummed along like an old sewing machine.

It is now Ermine White base coat with a Blue Pearl Clear Coat and color sanded.

Everything is stock except for the engine, a '59 chevy 235 ci six with Fenton headers.

The tranny is a 3-speed manual, with 3.73 gears in the rear.

Her sister in-law installed the blue leather trim interior and velour upholstery.

A nice granny car from the past and yes, she has a couple of car show trophies.
