My favorite too. My first was purchased in 1979, I drove it daily. It did drive like a scalded cat and had many people scratching their heads when I blew them in the weeds. I remember one 280 ZX Turbo who swore it had to have a V8 in it. :) Can't wait to drive it again. Thanks for the comment.

It was a Chevy dealers own personal car that he had custom painted and when I got it I purchased it from original that bought it from the dealer. The clear on the custom paint job was all cracked up so I stripped to bare metal and my brother in law Tom A. painted it and buffed out it was black glass. I purchased the original gold stripe kit and the paint kit from GM to restore the wheels, The car only had 9,000 miles on it. Could not drive it on the road without someone wanting to drag me. I had a 79 L-82 Vette at the same time that was kinda hoped up and a screamer. On the right road I think that Cosworth could have beat that Vette, unreal torque that did blast you against the seat back and no way touching the dash from 1st to 2nd gear, gas pedal floored. I live in Western Pennsylvania and nothing but a bunch of hilly windy roads that proved to be the Cosworths favorite playground. On a bend that you would be hitting the brakes and don't dare to go over 20 mph is the same bend that I would down shift to 2nd and punch it wide open Yee Friggen Hoo! Had Radial T/A 60's on it that acted like coated in glue when pulling whole shots and deep into the bends. That is why I said the right road and the Cosworth would have blown my vette away. If I still had mine I would be racing it in the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix each year it would clean house there. Bob

I love that sweet Vega of yours and especially being the coveted Cosworth. I had a 74 Hatchback with the high output four and four speed stick on the floor back in 1978-1979. I loved that Vega but with about 47,000 miles on her, she burned a quart of oil every week. I sold the car to someone did a great job pro streeting the car. Cheers. George
